Community involvement has always been very important to me. Having grown up in the middle of a high-conflict divorce, I am passionate about helping children who are subjected to the legal system and who are put in unfortunate situations. I am also passionate about education, justice, and mentorship.
I was nominated and appointed to serve on the ABA Death Penalty Representation Project Steering Committee in 2020. The Project aims to improve the quality and availability of legal representation for persons facing possible death sentences.
I have served on the Alumni Advisory Board for the FSU College of Law Raising the Bar Professionalism+ Program since its inception. I helped create the Program's annual writing competition, which I facilitate each year.

I served on the Board of Trustees for the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society from 2019-2023. I served as the Chair of the Publications Committee for three years (from 2019-2022) and served on the Executive Committee as the Secretary from 2021-2023.
Before joining the Board of Trustees in 2019, I was involved with the Historical Society as both a law student and young lawyer.

I coached two Moot Court teams for the FSU College of Law Moot Court team. One team finished as runner-up in its competition, which included teams from across the country.
As a young attorney, I participated in the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee's Thunderdome program, in which I learned substantive law and skills necessary for representing pro bono clients in family law matters.
Almost immediately after going into private practice, I became certified to serve as a Volunteer Child Advocate for the Guardian ad Litem Program for the Second Judicial Circuit and served as an advocate for a child for close to two years. During my clerkship at the Supreme Court of Florida and my first few months of private practice, I served as a Clerkship Advisor for the FSU College of Law Career Services Office. In this role, I advised students interested in judicial clerkships on the application and interview process for both state and federal judicial clerkships.
As a collegian, I was a charter member of the Alpha Phi chapter at the Florida State University.
After graduating, I served as a volunteer advisor for approximately 7 years, including as Chapter Advisor, Risk Management Advisor, and Finance Advisor for the Florida State University Chapter. In addition, I served as the Finance Advisor for the Chapters at the University of North Florida and the University at Buffalo.
In law school, I was awarded one of the Fraternity's national scholarships.
I also served as a Facilitator for the Fraternity's leadership conferences.
During my clerkship, I volunteered with the Informed Voters Project, which is a project by the National Association of Women Judges.
